Summer is in full swing in NC and as the days become hotter and hotter, I am always looking for simple wardrobe builder sews for my little lady. She is a self professed “Queen of all the Dresses” so I knew that what ever we selected had to be twirly and girly. That’s why the Anna Elise Fabric collection designed by Bari J. for Art Gallery Fabrics was perfect! The colors were light and breezy and the designs were free- spirited. To top it off my daughter thinks the collection is named for her since the name is SO close to her own! Cue up the mommy-win band! I used the beautiful Let it Be Beauty print in the Primrose Belle palette and the Pure Elements solid in Verve Violet.
For our patterns I wanted to do something that would be light enough for summer but could easily transition to the cooler fall days and back-to school. We decided to do a version of the brand new Ships Ahoy Tunic. I love this pattern and even without the collar, it makes an awesome swing top/dress!I added a tiny lace front detail with ric-rac. This top is great by itself, but I know it could easily be layered with a cardigan or jacket with leggings to create a fun fall look. I am always thinking ahead!
It includes a pattern for matching capris but we love to mix and match our patterns to create different looks so we went and grabbed the shorts from the Sunrise Girl Pattern. Seriously these shorts took me 30 minutes to make! They are that easy! they have a good amount of coverage and the optional pockets add some much needed storage if you have a tiny collector like my girl!
This set is a favorite and I am loving the possibilities with these pieces separately and together! Thank you Bari J., and Art Gallery Fabrics for supplying the fabrics!
